The lack of "strange people doing strange things" and vibrant gifs are killing /f/ production as
much as anything else. Both were the bread and butter of content for us talentless hacks, but IRC
is dead, bbs and sharethreads are gone, and no one's bothering to produce or rip gifs of stupid
things in any notable capacity.
I would be hard-pressed to make anything other than a really shitty porn flash using material
from the front page of /b/, but that wasn't always the case.
Naturally, I could dig up otherwise unused assets, but most of those would have been made or
archived prior to 2010.
Is the internet in an active state of entropy? Has the nature of video-driven content forced more
physical mediums like GIF or photoedits to extinction? Is the art of lulzharvesting dead? Will
half of the fun boards continue to be consigned to for fapping purposes only?
It is a strange time.

The internet used to be so innocent.

Damn, that's some strong nostalgia right there.

as it applied to this decade, I strongly doubt

is right btw
webm overtook /gif/ and killed gif by that regard
the age of gif, as well as swf, is just times gone by
relics of an internet where data capacity was still a thing
I'm glad I don't have to wait a minute for 30 seconds of porn just like the next man, but
creativity doesn't go well with convenience.
