to tell you the truth I haven't watched TV for about 5 years now and when I actually wanted to
watch a movie I haven't seen in a while it was like I was watching commercials with a few scenes
from the movie form time to time
also I didn't even know they cut the cast roll at the end and just show who directed it and who
played the main roles so they can fit more commercials inbetween

Come on man, it's not THAT bad.
It's that bad if you watch a news channel, sure, but the majority of other TV channels are not
even remotely political a quarter of the time.
That including TV shows created explicitly to shove X down your throat, be it the new hot fad of
the year such as refugees, or trans helicopters, and probably fucking terrorists this year. I
wouldn't be surprised. ("it's just their culture man! They like blowing things up!")
TV is HARDLY a problem with this. The internet is VASTLY more toxic to peoples minds than TV has
ever been in its entire history.
Echo chambers are considerably more damaging because they are interactive. More to the point,
"intelligently interactive", in that the feedback you get is that of reality, rather than
artificial intelligence in violent videogames and such, which people (mostly) know is fake.

Can't deny that, I love me some quiz and comedy variety shows.
I'm just sad the variety show has sort of died off in western areas more and more in the past few
decades.
I've had to turn to Gaki no Tsukai for my variety fix.
Plus, the Japanese just fucking don't care about PC faggots and their whining. (for the most part)

Ok, maybe 95% is too high but it is still alot.
Not just news.
Its most of the sitcoms, reality TV shows etc... and alot of the programming is subtle and
interspersed so its not like the show has to be based around it to be part of the problem. its
about the perspective of things...
And while both TV & Internet can be toxic I think when used in moderation the internet is a far
healthier medium because it is democratic and allows more perspectives (due to a natural variety
of real people) and even if all the news sites online are agenda based to some extent atleast
being able to see news from different ideological views makes it easier to see more sides of
things and form a clearer more accurate view rather then just parroting mainstream news which
really is propoganda for the most part

My mother blacklisted nearly all television, and especially anime (for animism type stuff, among
other things). I am a bit sad because I would have enjoyed ghibli type stuff immensely (for all
the aviation stuff) when I was young. However, I read a lot as a child which may have been better
for me academically. It is hard to say.
