Well, the "point" of DF is to have your fort survive as long as possible, while overcoming
various challenges, from mundane like having enough food and booze for your dwarves, to giant
spiders made out of steel shitting out dust that melts and rots your flesh in contact that invade
your fort because fuck you that's why.
It's fun if you have time to learn it, and is rewarding as fuck.
And it's free.
