Yea, sure, they could have casted a female just because of "MUH EQUALITY", or, and I know this
must be absolutely crazy to them, the creators just had a girl for whatever reason. Maybe the

Honestly, it's not what the female heros pull off that is in poor taste, but rather the complete
lack of an arc. James Bond, Batman and Captain America all get their asses kicked the first time
out. Meanwhile, any film in which a female hero got captured and beaten would be criticized as
"rapey". And if your female character has no flaws and wins all her battles, what you're saying
is either that you write shitty characters or that her flaw is that she is a woman.
