I'm sorry /f/rens I have no good recipes anymore
all I do is work, and to make matter worse now there is apparently a large wall of angry storm
heading my way in the near-ish future
Please accept this semi lewd OC as a token of my /f/eels
Has anyone ever made home made biscuits? I was discussing bao/buns with a coworker and was told
that a good homemade biscuit is waaay better than any slant eye bun
I always thought biscuits were very heavy?? Please enlighten me before I google it and spoil it
for myself.

I mean, buttermilk and the minimal knock down and working sounds like it would lead to a thicc
dough...
but I guess a thicc dough doesn't always mean thicc products..

Buttermilk makes it more fluffy, and if you are letting it rise a couple of times it should be
light and airy, thanks for the file :)

It turns out that soaking the whole wheat flour in buttermilk not only makes the resulting bread
light and fluffy (as airy as white bread), but it also makes the whole grain vastly more
digestible by neutralizing the phytic acid and making all those vitamins and minerals accessible
to our bodies.

Admittedly I'm not very experienced with bread, I only make a few really easy ones...like banana
which is more cake really....

I need to find a new favorite topping since the topping I like is considered an "asshole topping"

I like it pretty simple, just some fresh mozz and tom sauce with some shredded basil and a little
bit of parm and garlic butter on the crusty bits

I mean this is fresh garlic, not garlic salt/powder
I can't stand "Italian blend" spices on crust, not back if simmered into a sauce but blech
otherwise

truly slant eye buns and biscuits/cookies fall under different categories, bao are quite
satisfying in my opinion, whereas biscuits are more like sweet treats
good biscuits are soft, fluffy, and flaky, the secret is not to mix the batter so much
also here is a recipe for you all:
3 cups of chopped dates, chopping dates sucks, i normally try to cut them into pieces smaller
than a raisin
1 tablespoon of baking soda
soak the dates in 3 cups of water with the baking soda added, overnight if you can be bothered,
otherwise an hour or so is fine, retain the liquid
cream 180g of butter with 3 cups of normal sugar
add 3 eggs and a tablespoon of vanilla essence
add 1 tablespoon baking powder
4 and a half cups of normal white flour
1 and a half teaspoons of salt
and 1 and a half cups of chopped pecan nuts (chop them up into weeny pieces)
this makes a lot of cake batter, two cakes worth, but fuck it, this is delicious so you want two
cakes worth (or you can halve the mixture)
combine all ingredients, place into two round cake tins, eight or ten inch cake tins or so (or
one cake tin if you halved it, pussy)
bake at 180 degrees C for an hour approximately, it's done when a skewer comes out clean
while that's baking
boil together 2 and 2/3 cups soft brown sugar
2 and 2/3 cups of coconut thread
1 and a half cups of chopped pecans
240g butter
2/3 of a cup of milk
for real just boil that all together until its caramelised, ie brown and tasty looking
spread it over the top of the cake(s) and enjoy your armenian date cake

>>3278687
forgot to say:
you pour the water that you retained from soaking the dates into the batter, I think, hell, I
can't remember, if you combine all the ingredients and it looks too dry then pour it in
also, spread the topping while the cake is still warm, then grill it until the top browns
slightly, which will take about fifteen seconds
one last thing, the topping takes a very short time to caramelise, so do that once your cake is
almost finished baking
