To think the last time I'll see this flash will be so soon. We'll take it for granted but a lot
of this content regardless of how personal or irrelevant it is, it could mean a lot to someone
else. We had a good run, maybe things will get better.

I know that adobe is discontinuing support for flash but that doesnt mean that everything is over

only if you freeze your platform in a 'stable state' and don't update.
deprecated technologies WILL eventually be removed. Functionality WILL be crippled, and then
defunct.
The downside is, a frozen-state platform will increasingly cease to funcion in a modern context.
Try running plain-vanilla Windows95 with a relevant browser and try to surf the web... you will
quickly realize it is virtually impossible.
This is our future.

a hard truth that I didn't want to hear

>when papyrus was invented
>the old, vocally reiterated fairy tales were not disappearing
>contrary, they were brought to a whole new glory
>and though many great libraries burned after that
>ever since we have had more of our dreams preserved
>and though we still read them to our children
>we have come to embrace the books that preserve them so much better than anything before ever
could
>and where flash echoed our emotions, memories and aspirations
>html5 alternatives will eventually do that and much more
i've been working on porting some important flashloops to (a certain, hopefully long-term
supported subset of) html5 technologies, and will continue to do so. i will release what i have
so far plus a detailed howto sometime next year.
i am certain a whole number others are already working on similar efforts, and as flash nears its
end we will find ways to consolidate our efforts and create a more or less fixed set of rules on
how to create future-proof content for the decades thereafter.
