Maybe I should play IN one of these days.
Back when I played shmups my skill level only allowed me to reach like stage 4 of PCB or stage 3
of SA on normal, but maybe with this mechanic I could come close to beating the regular game.

I second PCB, Perfect Cherry Blossom. It's got good features that EoSD doesn't, it's got a nice
scoring mechanic, and isn't as easy-mode as Imperishable Night.
Also has the best Phantasm boss in the entire series.
