I mean, I get it, and it's pretty cool... But I dont remember anyone in any mythos running around

Yeah the gun thing was added in for fun.
But it was basically Orpheus traveling into hell to get back his dead wife Eurydice. The devil
allows him to take her, but only if he doesn't look back at her until they're safely out of hell.
In the myth, he gets paranoid that the devil tricked him and looks back, and she disappears.
In the game though, when you go back to where you started, you see yourself, which makes you
think. Was the whole journey just a hallucination, and it wasn't real at all? Just wishful
thinking?
