You need the whip on level 1 to grab a hold of the branch. If you didn't pick it up, you'll have
to trek though level 2 to get to level 1 (a.k.a metal gear solid style). Then you'll be able to
cross the sandpit and take on the Teenage Mutant
Ninja Komodo Dragon. Good luck with that, That fight's really hard.
