[_] [L] FILE SIZE LIMIT FINALLY FIXED Anonymous 01/07/10(Thu)07:23 No.1153143
Looks like moot actually reads his mail, I'm glad. Too bad you didnt increase it to 12 MiB but
hey at least you restored the old limit.
Any road, I can finally post this flash. Made it 22/12 -2009 but haven't been able to post it
until now.

This is pretty cool. How did you make it? Do you have it in higher quality somewhere?

I want a copy of this, so badly. >:

Oh wow, really enjoyable. Is there a source on the image? It's got me interested.

The flash, or something else?

The flash. I'm too much of a newfag to know how to properly download it, and I don't want to ask
how for fear of being labeled a /b/tard....

Source FFS. This loop is epic.

I am a /b/tard too, and a /v/irgin and a /k/ommando, but it doesn't matter. Merely being a
/b/tard doesn't excuse you from not knowing how to save flashes. In Opera and EE, you can find
the 'Save As' option under 'File' on your toolbar. Save as .swf on your HDD.

Sauce of music is Age of Emires II: The Age of Kings.

When viewing the flash in firefox:
Tools -> Page Info -> Media -> Save As
It should be the only file in media and already selected.

i'm glad you like it /f/, imagine the frustration when it was done and i couldn't post it
>>1153190
it was painful to make it so pixely but i thought it was important not to reduce the audio
quality and because i always aim all my flashes to be postable on 4chan the visuals had to
suffer. it was a choice of either making the pixels big or the jpg compression strong (giving
junk squares), i think big pixels were preferable. could have reduced the frame rate further but
i had already halved it. i didn't make a higher quality version. i really wish moot would
increase the file size limit to 12 MiB or more so that more quality content could be made, 8 MiB
isn't very much today.

how i made it:
the audio loop i made months ago, 30/3 -2009 to be exact. the song is "Shamburger" from Age of
Empires 2, a nice composition to a nice game. i had it in mp3, opened it in Audacity and cut out
the loop (can't remember how i exactly cut all my loops). saved the loop as a wav but didnt do
anything with it since i hadn't found any visuals that fit to it (common story for me).
few months later, 18/7 -2009, i installed and played the game "Anno 1404". apart from being a
great city building type of game it had great graphics and great art. the visuals in the loop are
from the first mission briefing background. there are a couple of these in the game (six i
believe), a gold mine for a flash looper. i intend to do another loop with another background
from the game later, hopefully in better quality, just need to find a fitting music.

anyway, finished the game, didn't do anything loop-wise because i had other things to do, but
made a mental memo. around christmas i had finished my recent site project, so i played through
Anno 1404 again, this time i decided to finally make the loop. used a program called
"1404Explorer v0.3" to extract the bink movie i needed from the game's RDA archive. Then I used
the official RAD video tools to convert the bink video to BMP files (I think you could do that
directly, can't recall right now, otherwise im sure I exported it as AVI and then used VirtualDub
to make it into bmp files), then i removed half the bmps to half the frame rate, then i resized
and converted the bmps to jpgs using IrfanView, then i simply made the swf file in Flash CS3 (i
prefer the cs3 version).
by the way, the source of the music and visuals are, as always in my flashes, below the visuals
(resize the window to be thin and tall to see it)

really wish you could write longer post on 4chan before getting "field too long". doing this is
just silly.,
...have to say btw im still surprised to learn how many on /f/ that don't know how to save the
flash files here. you can --ALWAYS-- right click on ANY link you click on online and select "Save
Target As..." - this will make you download (and save) the flash instead of download and open
(view) it.
so, instead of left clicking on the file name, right click on it and select save target as. make
a note of it :)

as i said i didnt make a high version of the flash. if you mean you want the original media of
the visuals (the bink video), i'm afraid i deleted it.
