Too bad CN only plays SHIT nowadays. I miss the classics from both Nickelodeon and Cartoon
Network. The only semi-decent shows left are chowder/spengbab/flapjack. There might be other
decent shows but I wouldn't know, I only watch TV about an hour every couple of weeks.

IMO here's how it went.
In the 80's most cartoons were just marketing campaigns for toys; Transformers, GI Joe, Ninja
Turtles, etc. Also, they all seemed to want to teach the kids moral lessons. GI Joe had those
"knowledge" segments at the end of them, shit like that.
Well in the 90s, largely due to Nickelodeon, there was a huge "fuck you" mentality to this. Their
cartoons existed to mainly be just wacky as hell. There was little to no moral lesson in any of
them, they were just a romping good time.
Somewhere along the line though, say around 2000 i guess networks wised up to this and started
putting more "wholesome" cartoons on. Then ratings dropped, and we got a resurgence of
Nickelodeon imitators that just suck ass.
And anime, don't forget anime.
