I hate how this games makes you leave the fighting area as soon as you touch the edge of the
screen. what's even the point? There's no benefit in leaving the area as opposed to simply dying
in the fight

I think their is at least one situation where you can get into a fight where you can't do shit
damage to an enemy and it takes forever to kill you too, so running is preferred. But the shop in
the 5th area has an artifact that lets you disable that.

the sad part is is that even the hacked version that gives you unlimited money to buy infinite
stats and weapon upgrades still takes awhile to beat. to beat this game legitimately must take at
least 30 hours

Yeah, I remember beating it and completing the entire bestiary once, but it took more than a week.
My best tip if you want to really play it to the end is to just go to the creator's website and
playing the version there.
