I need help. How do I stop flash from automatically downloading? I used to just open them in new
windows but nowadays chrome does not allow its user to allow flash for all websites. I can't run
any of my saved flashes.

Try searching chrome on an archive, also stop using chrome.

in between the filename and the tag, clicked embed. you can't view it in a separate tab but it
works in an embedded frame

What about selecting predownloaded files from my computer and opening them on chrome? I used to
do that like a year ago, but the UI has changed several times.

Part of the reason why no one wants to help you is because this flash is shitty and I find it
hard to believe that anyone unironically enjoys it at this point.
The more recent versions of chrome have flash completely disabled as a default, and trying to
access flash files (this goes for really any unreadable file in chrome) will result in
downloading it. You have a few options to mitigate this problem:
As one anon mentioned already, you can use an archived version of chrome.
You could also use firefox, which is a better browser anyways.
Finally, you could simply google how to enable it in your current build of chrome, the info is
out there.

Thanks and checked! Also I just selected a random one from my useless .swf folder, next time
asking a question I should try selecting a hentai game to attract attention.

When I mentioned the archive I actual meant for him to keyword search for chrome on the flash
archives since his problem has been answered every day for about a month now.

Chrome Doesn't play Flash anymore because "Flash is a security Risk"
Try using Opera or Firefox!

from the archives. This worked for me
>Go to chrome://flags/#enable-ephemeral-flash-permission and disable it
>If that doesn't work try enabling this chrome://flags/#extensions-on-chrome-urls
