Throughout the years I've saved a lot of .swf files from here that I now have archived. A lot of
these are just .flv videos converted to a .swf container so that they could be posted onto this
board. My question is, does anyone have some software that could convert all of these files into
.webm? They're gutting Flash soon and I want to make sure these files are still viewable in the
future.
I've found some websites that do this kind of thing but these only allow 1-2 conversions at
once., and you must upload the flash files too. I need to do this in bulk and without the time
consuming uploading-downloading process.

i looked around in swiff army knife and it can't convert swf to anything. just flv into webm.
i tried experimenting with ffdec but it exports the video and audio feeds into two separate files
(flv and mp3), so the video file itself is mute. i'd then have to mass convert the flv files to
mp4, and then i should be able to use ffmpeg to glue the mp3 audio into them, but i'd have to do
each video manually unless i want to spend days writing a python script and/or using regex (which
is another beast by itself.)
these shady looking german websites already do what i need to do server side which means
somewhere in this world such automated software does exist, i just need whatever they have
running on my own computer.

After you have the video file you can use Swiff Army Knife to make a webm out of it.
Just know that once you convert a swf into an inferior format you'll no longer be able to get
into heaven when you die.

Last resort: Play the entire length of the .swf while taking a screen capture with OBS or any
other program like that.
