flash will be disabled in chrome July 2019 and removed in Dec 2020.
it's a shame adobe decided to starve this technology instead of porting it to HTML5. now decades
of awesome indie movies and games will die.

A decent open-source Flash player is going to become a really important thing to have. It's a
shame that Lightspark is so far behind, because most of the other projects are dead.

What difference does it make? The issue with Flash is Adobe's disinterest combined with the lack
of competing implementations. Running Flash Player as a standalone application vs it as a browser
plugin is just window dressing.
