  Had this game on a 486 machine running win2k..

  was so easy to rock because so laggy.
  Not so much now :^)

  Lock your cpu speed at ≤ 200 Mhz.(optionally for RAM too)
  Disable all optional cores.
  + may help:
  Disable throttling (if used).
  Disable Hyper-Threading.
  Use few monitors.
  Same for GPU.
