the standalone players in the archive usually have linux executables as well, just browser

Not a player, I'm talking about Adobe CS6. I got a torrent of it but the installer won't work,
probably because it doesn't understand the filestructure.

If anyone's out there, here's the error:
Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file.
Followed by a suggestion to restart my computer and disable my firewall.

Best idea I could come up with is to run a virtual machine of windows and install it on that. I
couldn't get it to work and gave up for now.

create a ~200GB partition on your drive and install windows in there exclusively for adobe CS6
