special edition with new content, more focus on the mythical trio instead of the 2 legendary,
animated by hand battle intros

new pokemon feel okay, but uninspired, too many pokemon to realistically now CATCH THEM ALL IN A

Legendaries were a myth even for core fans, while a lot of people still got a Mew in the original
remake is only a selling point because you don't have to buy 2 games when playing all alone
this remake made the turning point and has now become the oldest still connected game in the
franchise that isn't only obtainable through remakes, even if only through craaaaazy complicated
trading mechanics

From this point on you could in theory pool all your pokemon from every game through time and
space to have them in a (now in app form!) singular pokedex. Only recommended for maniacs.

pokemon designs became a joke from here onward, too many to even want to memorize them all
lore-rape, introduction of pokemon gods, handholding 100%, focus on "a kid saved the whole
fucking universe" instead of "just go on an adventure and maybe stumble into crazy stuff" plots
I'm not saying the old games weren't a mess codewise. Lots of bugs, some became legends
(missigno) others were glaring mistakes.
There's just this tangible gap between the original pokemon players and the new generation which
still goes on to this very day.

BW2 was the pinnacle of the series, yet I still get my hopes up for a new gen or mainline game.
Of course these games are easy, you can still turn off nuisances like exp. share and apply self
restrictions.

Clicking the Deoxys island first before anything else seems to fuck up the flash and make it pick

I never really got into Pokemon but they were part of my childhood, both the anime and the games,
