Wonder how newfriends even find out about /f/.

There's an /f/ banner in rotation.

as much as I hated the captcha inclusion on /f/ I don't seem to have to do much other than tick
the box

What?
I thought the idea of /f/ having a banner was binned by Hiro when he announced that virtual
youtuber whore contest.

That died right? Hopefully? I did all I could to get people to vote for that one shitty paint
drawing cause at least that could have been funny.

I don't mind the captcha at all, I remember those pre-captcha days well.
Anontalk pedo spam.
Multi-colored rectangles because retards downloading scripts and joining botnets.
Various other bot spammers spamming CP, gore and abuse.
Na. Fuck that.
Even whenever there was glitches found in recaptcha the spam immediately came back.
I remember that time /v/ was literally shut-down because every single thread was CP within
minutes.
The neet catalog unlisted /v/ shortly after due to thumbnails.
Fuck that.

>being logged into google or using chrome
having to actually solve the captcha just means you aren't tracked accurately.
the fact that you probably don't even realize you're tracked is the saddest part.

the captcha could have been handled way better:
1. in-house captcha solution instead of providing free data to uncle google
2. fill out less and less captchas as you become more trusted. hell, could even have optional
captcha sign-ins so you can transfer you trustedness between ips/computers.
3. filters and janitors can sweep up non-captcha posts from more trusted posters.
4. multiple user reports on the same post reduce that guy's trustedness and makes more captchas
needed for him.
instead moot slaps on lazy 3rd party captcha required on every fucking post AND increase timeouts
inbetween posts AND on top of it all sell you gold accounts to get rid of captcha and timeouts.
nowadays nobody imagedumps anymore and all the fun people left /b/ to either other sites or other
boards (4chan have too many overlapping boards spreading content thin)

That's when you only do few posts per day.
But if there is some heated discussion suddenly google starts giving you cancerous select images
captcha.
