Hey /f/.
So... How long have y'all been in this board for?
It's honestly depressing to see this place so empty. It feels like being on a sinking ship.
Flash's impending doom is kinda scary, too... It's such a big part of the internet and it's dying
just like that. It just feels wrong. It used to feel like the party was going to go on forever. I
took all this for granted.
Sorry to ramble on like a retard. Hope everything is going well for you, anons of /f/.

only about 4 years, but it's my favorite board on 4chan. it's the only place where people seem to
enjoy spending time together and aren't trying to out-retard each other.

I felt nostalgic for some flash games about a year ago, and I never left, there's a lot of fun
things you can't do on /trash/ or any other board for that matter you can do here.

I've been on the 4chinz since 2009, only started coming on /f/ in 2014. Aside from porn boards,
this is just about the only one I still regularly visit. It's pretty sad to see it die though.

I've been around here for about 8 years, first visited /f/lash after finding some shit on youtube
about it. It was really cool to find somewhere other than newgrounds that didn't really have
limits on content at the time, but it was probably cause I was young enough to not know of
anywhere else. Now I've saved hundreds of flashes from this site onto hdds I can't find, but I
hope I can someday when this is all gone, maybe give back to the people when nothing's left.
It's one of the few communities I've felt like a real part of, even if I've spent most of my time
lurking. I really took the lurk moar of my predecessors to heart.
And for those who are looking, potplayer is a pretty good program for flash and webm files. It's
worked for me for a few years now, convenient when I don't want to open a web browser every time
I open an swf.

I've switched main boards a few times so /f/ has been with me the longest. I check it only a
couple of times weekly so not much has changed for me yet.
I've been visiting /f/ since 2008 and I think it's retained its quality best. The content happens
to be in a very memorable unchanging format so it's only natural I feel sentimental over it

'Been on /f/lash for about 3 years with some hiatuses. (mostly lurking)
I agree that flash's doom is scary since it has played such a big role on the interwebs.
I love this board for the sense of nostalgia because if you didnt know any better, no matter what
date you visit this board in, it will always feel like the 2000s

I don't really remember. It was just a natural board to visit since I was young when flash was
big and it played a big part in the old internet for me.
I never really thought of /f/ as my homeboard back then, just because it's so slow, but I guess
it ended up becoming it anyway at some point. I don't know when I became aware of that, but
probably somewhere around '13, when I started noticing that every other board was turning into
/v/.

see ppl lurking for more.
i just want to people to know how good flash it is and not just pull the plug if was just a bad
video player

I have been here since 2009 at least. Earliest I remember was downloading vocaloids songs here
that I liked while playing minecraft multiplayer with friends (that had just come out at the
time). I still have those, and listen every once in a while when I want to feel, alongside a
plethora of quality shitposts I've downloaded over the last 11 years

I've been on 4chan since I think 2012 or so, but I always dismissed /f/. I couldn't figure out
how it used, I never was really interested to learn.
I was just bored about a year ago and went through all the boards I usually don't go at and,
well, I stuck around.
I hate myself for missing this place's heyday.
>> [_] Anonymous 05/07/20(Thu)11:49:03 No.3427563
First 2006 occcasionally.
Since 2009 basically every day, except from a short period between 2012 and 2013/14.
First things I've seen musta been some xenon animations and Zone.
I also remember that I used /f/ mostly in junction with other flash exhibition sites like dagobah
and pown.it and just browsing through file after file.
You are a newfag if:
>You never saw the old layout.
>You didn't lurk before swfchan's (board) creation.
>You never posted in an Anonymous D thread
>You never noko'd and saged a thread at the same time (even though it's meaningless on /f/).
>You never posted a comment without captcha.
Am I ... one of the oldest fags here?
That thought makes me really depressed because I remember a time when I was just a wee lad
surrounded by people who were so much older, more cultured, more skilled than me and full of
memes.
Also reading up on (then) current and classic memes a la dramatica was a great way to get
familiar with board culture language and (ancient) memes easily.
Countless lurking. I don't specifically remember the first time I commented anything (maybe I was
being a newfag back then), but I definitely do the first time I posted a new thread and new swf
file with it.
Since then I did mostly video conversions and just semi-recently (after 2012) got into actual
flash creation with actionscript and all.

Yeah, back then it was really just a novelty for me that I consumed
Only as the years flow by and the rest of the internet worsened was when I started noticing that
/f/ didn't get progressively worse, but stood firm like a pillar of strength.
I know that somewhen around 2012 there was SUCH an influx of newfags niggers (literally, I swear
they were like weeaboo niggers), that I was disgusted and left /f/ for maybe a whole year.
When I returned, everything was back to how it always been, so I did as well.
Then /f/ has become slower over time, but lately it isn't THAT much than ever.
I'd say the norm was a whole site turnover per day.
