also I never noticed that the end of that music cue emulates a scuba-breathing effect. I like
those little subtleties.

I remember them thinking it should be very orange instead of green, and that that somehow would't
completely ruin it.

3D films rarely capture the soulful style of skillful 2D animation, too much reliable on
automated in-between frames. With that said, those CGI bits from '95 are on point.

it's a lost ethic.
GITS is forever.

good thing they removed the nipples in the live action version
Let's be serious, they are just there because stupid fanservice and trigger me seriously, as a
feministic pansexual modern man
I will now spend the coming decade to infiltrate the fanbase of a medium I hate and critizise it
for its features that made it greatly accomplished in the first place

Man, this really took me back. What the fuck happened to Anime after the mid-90s early 2000s? It
went from brutal gritty animation to like, moeblobs and fucking boku no pico

they figured out fanservice/moe/adorable sells.
also, the animating profession has been a race to the bottom. getting a bunch of cut-rate artists
that all draw the same bland style means you don't have to pay them much. the race to the bottom
is ongoing, and only established/independent firms can release anything with as unique a feel as
GITS had back in the day. even then, they can only employ so many people and it's still a gamble
economically speaking.

not even a gamble
it is well known that studios have to pump out some select moe animes with figure sales and when
they have just enough they make a season of an anime they really want to create
only for it to flop so hard at the box office they have to start recouping again
it's an age old motive
BUY GOOD ANIMES
DON'T BUY FUCKING WAIFU STATUES
but alas, weebs gonna weeb

but the fanservice was the worst part, anon.

I agree. As a man, I just can't stand seeing naked bodies of any kind. I was recently at a museum
with my wife and her boyfriend, and it was mortifying to see that in the year 2020 people have
the audacity to paint another human being naked.
It's honestly basically rape and I almost had a panic attack. Luckily Jamal had packed my
Nintendo Switch and I was able to take my mind off of it with some soothing Mario Odyssey.
