i think the whole idea that shutting it down because of security concerns is lazy, since this
isn't the mid-2000s anymore.
I want to hear opinions on the newgrounds player, since otherwise i will just edit registries to
allow flash to work.

like seriously i dont know shit about code, and it isnt like im clicking porn ads while im 13.
I've had no solid reason why even the most basic anti-virus wouldn't work against flash, other
than outdated software is supported less

i turned auto-update off so my browser can support flash forever. I'm just hoping that
hiroshimoot doesn't nuke this board into oblivion.

not healthy, I did this ca 5 years ago and at some point my firefox just stopped supporting most
web pages, because too old
also a risk of security
just get a browser that is the same and still gets updates but also allows for plugins
>>3424104
the whole security shit is only a poo flinging campaign for power anyway
just have sandboxed flash in a click to activate setting with antivirus installed and not being a
dumbass will never net you any MUH WALRUS
sure there were problems, but not using flash at all wasn't really a meaningfull solution
people will just exploit new stuff, you're never "secure"
does anybody remember that intel thing were basically all intel processors were compromised?
well, nobody said NEVER BUY INTEL AGAIN, WE WILL REMOVE INTEL
they just fixed it and lived on and nobody oti cares anymore but FLASH IS BAD MMMKAY!
>>3424089
I hope nothing as nobody will care about /f/ and business will continue as usual

flash isn't bad per se
you need to look at it from adobe's perspective:
is there any comercial potencial? no? (because other corporations decided not to support it) well
then fuckin kill it
let it go open source?
fuck no, corporations don't do that for no reason
>> [_] Anonymous 04/07/20(Tue)20:06:43 No.3424165
>>3424162
yeah, it's not (just) adobe's fault
sure they never really cared for flash and didn't want to put up a fight with gogol, also they
never bothered to fix flashes security issues and just patched after known issues arrived until
they stopped
it was mostly google and all the other html5 niggers who just went NOPE, FLASH MUST DIE KTHXBAI
I'm not even saying flash should be the standard format for everything oti, it was never meant to
be
but erasing it off the face of the planet and with it 20 years of history is just cheap ass shit
you could just make it optional and nobody but us would have cared
why FORCE people to not use it? like apple did on their OS? because flash is too powerful and
they want it gone for all the paid apps and whatnot
>> [_] Anonymous 04/07/20(Tue)20:23:44 No.3424166
>>3424165
you basically want to force them to support it
apple os and chrome is for people who don't want to think how things work and for them all
powerful flash is indeed dangerous
you don't want a plugin with little to no support possibly accessing payment methods stored in
your browser
flash platform belongs to them... they can do whatever they want with it... software is being
deprecated all the time...
do you remember java applets?
old dos games require e.g. dosBox to run
with old console games you are fucked without the console
if flash wont run in browser there are still standalone players
>> [_] Anonymous 04/07/20(Tue)22:14:20 No.3424175
Why can't it just become a board like /rs/? People can still download things and play them on
their stand-alone players.
