Interesting that you should post this now, I watched the HBO miniseries "Chernobyl" yesterday (6
episodes).
It was alright but it was so annoying that they felt the need to add that woman nuclear physicist.
According to an interview it was to "symbolize all the people that tried to figure out what had
actually happened". Even if that was true why did they pick a woman for the part, just how many
lady nuclear physicists did the CCCP have in 1986? Even if there was 1 the role should go to a guy
if 99 out of 100 nuclear physicists are guys. I hate misrepresentation of actual historic events
and on top of that they added misrepresentation of genders. Bah. Social engineering sucks.
