funnily enough American spider man has never used a gun yet Japanese spider man has used a Tommy
gun to mow down his enemy's. Who has more honor?

unless my ears are mishearing those are kind of somewhat decent R sounds in "spider"

No, they're actually saying "SPIDA MAN." you're subconsciously expecting the "R" sound at the end
of "SPIDER" and by the time you hear it, you are already moving on to hearing "MAN", so your mind
doesn't register the slight mispronunciation.
It's a common trick often used by ventriloquists to pronounce words that cannot be said without
moving your lips, such as replacing "B" with "D" and "F" with "ETH". Good Japanese ESL speakers
do the same thing with those tricky "R" and "L" words.
