Maybe it just feels like it.

You're imagining it. Stop thinking and embrace modernity.

/f/ is faster than the months leading up to the deadline. If you are interested in making /f/
faster consider making a youtube video about why /f/ is special to you.
People are enticed by abandoned formats and a warm community. It would likely get some nice new
friends on board.
If you throw in a segment on etiquette, and using different features like swfchan you could very
well add many valuable new users to the board.

youtube is TV, everybody uses youtube. If you know what you are doing you could aim at a very
high quality crowd and have something quite wonderful.

>high quality crowd
There is none on youtube. If the algorithm favors the video, it’ll get spammed to everyone and
then there is no “quality control” in terms of the crowd it will attract. The board is better off
this way.

I can understand not wanting too many people but being afraid of other social media and thinking
they are all snake pits is won't do you any good either. The stuff the big youtubers talk about
and experience don't really apply for smaller creators, and just like how you can maneuver away
from the less pleasant board onto our lovely place here you could do the same with some thinking
on youtube.
a lot of /f/ classics are on youtube, some of them even hit millions of views and none of them
seem to flood the board.

HELP FLASH STOPPED WORKING HELP
apparently adobe had a killswitch in there
My firefox just gives me this deadflash icon whenever I try to watch one.
I'm stuck using offline players! But even some of those are starting to exhibit the kill-switch
syndrome

You can download the flash and play it locally, /f/ is trustworthy, you can go to swfchan and
play it online through ruffle, use an older version of firefox, or the basilisk browser. You can
download an older flash or implement one of the fixes discussed in the stickies before.
Sorry, I didn't have enough time to make a pasta. the info is a bit scattered.

What players do you use locally?
I used to use SWFfileplayer but it also gets the flash icon of death when I try playing anything
locally.
The adobe flash player projector works for me but it has issues with some swfs.... probably ones
that try to connect to anything. VIP doesn't work, and some games.
I've heard on /g/ that someone posted a waybackmachine archive link to a version of flash from
before they included the kill-switch.
Anyone know which version, or have the link?

Inside Adobe's flash projector, right-click and select "Global Settings". Go to the "Advanced"
tab. Press the "Trusted Location Settings..." button.
Press the "Add..." button and the "Add folder...". Make the folder where you have your .swf
file(s) trusted and they will be able to connect to the Internet. That should fix VIP.
The last version of flash without the killswitch is 32.0.0.371. Your "SWFfileplayer" probably
uses the ActiveX version of flash so you could try to downgrade it, unfortunately Adobe prevents
their ActiveX flash installer from working on Win8/Win10 because they want you to use Windows
Update instead, but that probably no longer works and I don't know if it ever supported
downgrading versions.

p_32.0.0.371_archive.zip
Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash (if you have 32bit windows go to C:\Windows\System32\M
acromed\Flash) open the file named mms.cfg and edit the contents so that it contains the
following:
SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0 # disable automatic updates
AutoUpdateDisable=1 # disable update checking
EOLUninstallDisable = 1 # disable EOL notice
EnableInsecureAllowListLocalPathMatching = 1 # fixes bug with filenames with brackets, may also
fix MPC-HC
AllowListUrlPattern = >>>/f/ # Allow all local files to run in browsers.
This is what I did and it works fine, feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong.

After AllowListUrlPattern I added a link to /f/, just adding a note since it might not be clear.

If you want a shitton of people that only post bullshit replies and neither post flashes nor
create them, then this woud surely be a splendid idea.

the rule of thumb is one complete frontpage turnover every 24 hours and it feels like that's

the biggest problem is education
people back then were already very versed and only needed a little time to adapt to /f/
today, people lack all kinds of concepts so it would take quite some more time to rid them of
their newfaggotry, not to mention that newfags back then at least had the habit to only lurk
we don't have enough people here, if there would be suddenly 2x the amount of regulars of /f/ as
newfags, then board might be even unusable to us
there are FAR better places to get your just once a month look through new shit because flash
places, like newgrounds for example
we ARE kind of a huge niche existence here and a dying breed as well
>>3457513
adobe projector has no such thing as killswitches and can even stream swfs from an url

We need a pasta or permanent sticky at some point. New users will def be locked out of a good

I wonder what Dave's doing these days. He was drawing diaper porn on pixiv for a few days until a
kiwifag spotted him (which basically proves kiwis are no better than the people they make fun of,
since there's no way in hell they would have found him that fast if they weren't diaper
fetishists). Once again those shitheads kill the lulz, the exact opposite of what the site is
supposed to do

As the boards resident zoomer faygot, I can attest to this. This place is very old internet,
where Pepe's and Basedjacks are impossible to spam (unless you want to make a flash on that
subject *wink* *wink*) and it isn't really based around who can be the bigger faggot amongst a
group of lesser faggots. It's more similar to /po/ or /i/ in that aspect.
