  This came out 20 years ago, almost to the date. It was available online for only a few months and
  never released on DVD.
  It was a sort of pilot to test the waters of how popular an Azumanga Daioh web series might be.
  It was such a success that the website hosting it crashed constantly and they decided instead to
  make the television anime we all know and love.
  Only like two encodes exist now and neither is very good. It'd be cool to get my hands on the
  original file they distributed but I don't think anyone has it anymore:
