It's the only place that feels like it's manage to retain the spirit of its time. That time was
also the last time I actually felt alive.

More consistent quality than any other non-dead corner of the internet I could find. Even with
all the reposts I think more proper, non-derivative OC (as in derivative of other cliches) got
and gets made here than in many much larger sites. And much of what gets reposted is so painfully
old and obscure that it might as well be new.
Apart from that I'd say /f/ was the last "general" board to remain silly and light-hearted
without 7 layers of irony.
Apart from the shrinking userbase, the one thing that pains me about this place nowadays is that
people here use the same slang as in every other board. It used to be that the folks in here
talked at any given time like /b/ did 5 years before mixed with an old chatroom and a bit of
local flavour, but ever since the election it's become almost entirely homogenized.

It's a time capsule of a simpler time that appeals to my autistic tendency to do the same thing
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
Thank you for everything /f/. See you tomorrow for more of the same

Really? I'm here for the exact opposite reason. The creativity here is much better when comparing
it to a lot of other boards and even most social media platforms.

I think that can be said for a lot of boards, a lot of idiosyncrasies that were specific to a
particular board are gone now.

Guys we have 2 days, what's the solution to flash being shut down? Is there some kind of archive
site that wraps things as webms or whatever? I keep coming to /f/ just for a taste of the old
days, remembering how fun the web of the 00s was, like going back to your hometown and taking a
look around. I hope the browsers don't disable flash internally and not let you turn it back on.

unfortunately most major browsers(even firefox) collectively decided to remove it and windows
sent out an update to remove it permanently. Only fix I know is to download the flash debugger
and install it on your own computer to play it

I don't fully know what the deal is with the plugin but I just open SWFs with the standalone
projector at this point anyway. Probably the thing to do if the plugin becomes completely
unusable.

I believe there was a thread on this topic in late November. think there's an archive of it.

been here for years, out of every board it's just the one board I just always kept coming back to
for a breath of what simpler times were like.

although not a 4chan /f/ archive, it's a much bigger flash animation/game archive that's been
collecting for a few years, bluemaxima.
i just found out about it a few months ago, and it doesn't have everything. but it has a lot.
they've archived and documented every single flash they've put. you have to download it though,
but its online, so you aren't downloading tens of thousands of games onto your computer..

Is there anywhere else left on the internet where I can have light heated fun? I can't even find
that on other 4chan boards. Please, if anyone knows of any kind of obscure forum, image board, or
website please tell us so that this early 00's spirit is lost forever.

When it comes to other imageboards you'll have to look around the altchans and try to find one
that appeals to you. Failing that I guess you could get used to [s4s], simply because its the
most laid back and chill board on the site.

You can still download and use the standalone flash player. Flash as something browsers and
native integration in computers is gone, but standalone programs still work fine.

It lives on with us. I'd say don't hide it, if you see a person who's capable of actually getting
it. The youngsters ain't all that bad, you know. Taught someone the meaning and history of goatse
and the like today.
