They're deleting flash in December, in case you didn't notice.
Unless the mods get an alternative up and running, we're fucked.

it's not gonna be deleted, therer just won't be support for it
kinda like windows xp

Browsers will block it for good.
Then again even if the main browsers block it the board will still be more lively than the other
dead boards like /po/ and /i/.

If browsers block it completely I'll gladly keep one tab open with just internet explorer to keep
using it anyway

Browsers are killing it and there's evidence that Flash itself has been coded to completely stop
working after an arbitrary date.
Adobe's really done us dirty with this EoL bullshit.
>> [_] Anonymous 09/05/20(Sat)04:22:33 No.3438578
If the board doesn't get deleted you could still just download them off the page and play them
through an offline .swf player, right?
>> [_] Anonymous 09/05/20(Sat)07:26:46 No.3438587
>>3438539
Oh, so you made that :3
Let's hope that /f/ will do the same as everytime, as in not go anywhere.
>>3438565
Jesus, have you been living under a rock the past year? they can't just "delete" flash on your
PC. You are free to go and use a browser that isn't google that still has plugin support and use
flash indefinitely. Literally nothing changes.
I hope the mods will NOT do anything "alternative". If you can't be arsed to even download and
play flashes offline with the projector, then you never belonged here anyway.
I use basilisk. It's basically firefox but before it got cucked and it gets the same amount of
care in terms of security updates.
At least have 2 browsers installed, one just for /f/, I mean what would be the big deal? Is there
a law somewhere saying you can only have 1 of either chrome, firefox or internet explorer
installed?
>>3438577
That's true, but then I have faith in the /f/riend community being able to unfuck it. Worst case
scenario, we will have to find an older version, or use the projector which doesn't have that
problem.

lmao same here, just took recent interest in /f/ since flash's losing support on chrome soon.
can't be asked to change browser
>> [_] Anonymous 09/05/20(Sat)09:26:48 No.3438589
Just move to playing the .swfs in a different window with adobe's standalone player. If and only
if adobe doesn't nuke it with some kind of end-of-life loss of function

>there's evidence that Flash itself has been coded to completely stop working after an arbitrary

I don't think so, it's just vaguely-worded.
>Flash-based content will be blocked from running in Adobe Flash Player after the EOL Date
Most people use Flash as a general term for anything related to the format. Adobe uses "Flash
Player" very specifically to mean the browser player, and "projector" to mean the offline version.
https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html
These are being updated as late as August, so if they're implementing a kill switch they've
probably done it last month. But I doubt that's actually happening.

Some anon tried it with setting his systemclock past 2020.
The browser plugin showed an error image and redirects to adobes eol site.
the projector worked fine though and this is the more useful component to all those chromefags
>> [_] Anonymous 09/05/20(Sat)11:05:23 No.3438597
What about utilizing the newgrounds flash player?
I've also just made a script to download all the flashes since it's getting pretty flaky to run
in-browser.

/f/ forever. If this board dies I have nothing to live for. And let's be real, /f/ won't go
anywhere. You just have to be smart.
>> [_] Anonymous 09/06/20(Sun)00:16:04 No.3438652
I wish was on F before, you look all religious to /f/ but everything i see is some fun files that
i can click and see something new, it's great, but i can't say i have that feeling of something
that i can feel the soul entirely. Although, i will keep coming here to see fun things, so please
don't die and if possible create new content, even if it's one per month.

worrisome that they aren't fixing the issue with firefox, 4chan's servers are reporting something
weird in the response header that makes swf files not play. this is probably a quick fix but the
inaction is starting to make it look like they dont give a damn about /f/.
