Yeah, basically. We've seen a bunch of very old tripfags/namefags that haven't showed up in years
in the stickied thread.
I think also a lot of people just wanted to post their favorite flashes before the zero hour,
which helped accelerate things further

New Year was wild.
I spotted a few flashes I'd like to see, went to get a cup of coffee and a sandwich, when I came
back I refreshed the page and all of it was gone, replaced by new ones. I don't remember the last
time something like that happened here on /f/.

A lot of newfriends and tourists came to /f/ because of the flash is dying meme. A few threads
were made on other boards linking them here, like /v/ for instance.
You could spot them immediately because they complained about mods deleting threads since they
didn't understand how thread pruning works on /f/.
