I mean, it was pretty much ripped out of context right at the beginning. When Adobe bought Flash
and it became the de facto web 2.0 standard for a decade or so, things got out of control pretty
quickly.
It was just created to easily share interactive music videos on the internet before even
downloading an .avi was a viable way of doing that.
