[_] /f/ren day 10th November Anonymous 10/24/21(Sun)00:11:13 No.3474881
We recently had a /f/ren day and it was a moderate success
>>3474847
>>every single thread on /f/ is from today the last 24 hours
>WE DID IT
>WE SAVED THE BOARD
It started on the anniversary of the last flash to be approved to dagobah where there are still a
few active users.
dagobah.net/comments/
Said he is just too busy with IRL stuff ATM, Maybe he might return to approve flashes again, he
at least said he’d give us warning and a chance to download if the site were to be shut down.
> Time will tell. I won't delete this site without a notice.
> For adding more content I think there is no point of doing so
> I think the best way is just to keep everything as they are.
Either way, I’ve been thinking about starting a website to keep track of the various sites and
torrents with flash, need to have a database of what files are in what place and which ones have
the same file thus what files are known to exist.
2 other things like compatibility with ruffle and the trick to opening site locked files(I have
software that does this)
Maybe we could share ideas and talk about it more on the next /f/ren day or maybe we could talk
on dagobah too
Not making another flash portal, im thinking a wiki/ tracker that links to swfchan, dagobah etc
but maybe a section to demonstrate flash emulation technology and discussion of the art form
Marked for deletion (old).

This is on the front page of swfchan.com as the latest never spotted before flash.
it is flash #243365 says (Archived flashes:221804) at the top of swfchan
I found it while looking for other flashes by the same author as a different flash
with a wiki site we could catalog these and also share our flash collections and find
lost/missing flashes
either way i thought it would be cool to make like a Wikipedia for these flashes to categorize,
discuss and find lost flashes.
gotta see some discussion to see if anybody's interested

I have plans to make it,
just wanted to see if people are actually interested in it.
Would you use such a site?

if it's useful, sure
but you gotta get the ball rolling before you start these kinds of big discussions

was looking for a bit of input and trying to see if there is much enthusiasm about the idea.
so here is the plan(after the site is operational).
Step 1. generate list of all the files on swfchan dagobah and maybe some torrents.
Step 2.
Have an automated system create wiki pages for each item.
these aren't going to be the articles they will be more like this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:BookSources/
Step 3: test items in ruffle and categorize them to show what files are incomparable and details
about the file.
maybe have some other ways of emulating flash if possible
Step 4: wiki pages about the defunct websites and authors, memes
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/onions-sauce-warrior-kikkoman
knowyourmeme.com/memes/giko-%E3%82%AE%E3%82%B3
knowyourmeme.com/memes/mona-%E3%83%A2%E3%83%8A%E3%83%BC
these all got their know your meme page so there is still some mainstream representation
maybe a wiki page for all the flash for iloveegg

I don't really see the benefit in thousands of automated pages about garbage flash files (huge
chunk of the archive).
If you do a collection manually on swfchan and put useful tags in the comment and links to author
or whatever, fine. You can make a bundle per site or something like that.
If you make the password publicly know, then basically everyone could edit it (or delete it) and
it won't be lost to author death.
It's a lot of work, but it would be a benefit to flash society for sure.
But why do I need info if a file works with ruffle? If I wanted to know that I'd just try it out,
or rather assume it won't work anyway.
>> [_] Anonymous 10/24/21(Sun)11:29:36 No.3474915
>>3474909
Because they are still fixing ruffle and giving them a good list of files that don't work would
help them to find bugs in ruffle.
There are lots of flashes not in English and swfchan actually extracts text from it so you can
read what it says.
Would make translation easier.
The point of those pages is that I want to be able to track what files are in smaller archives
and torrents this having a database of swfs known to exist would help us display. What exactly is
in the archives.
Certain pages would be edit locked but you would be free to make your own.

Using linux here I just download swfs, then have my own script inbetween which takes the file and
shoves it into flash projector. That works really well. Keep up the project guys, I check back in
a year. See you at the end of 2022!

Me too. In fact, I also run the projector through firejail, for some security.

seems like a bit of overkill there
its about as risky as running an old word processor most of the time.
most of the danger is if you get linked to a dead site that was bought bu shady guys thereafter,
even then they would use something other than flash to rat your machine
>> [_] Anonymous 10/24/21(Sun)21:56:16 No.3474946
expect zero visitors if you do this, normies couldn't care less about flash now that the ministry
of truth have told them flash is bad.
my advice is you spend your life on something else. making swf torrents would do enough if you
really want to contribute.

I spent my life trying to find where da hood was at only to find that da real 'hood is the
friends you make along the way

Its no good if nobody can find them,
get a nice place where we can share our collection fill in the gaps etc

I agree but have zero clue how to do that. A potential start.

What flash really needs is a search engine. The whole reason why flash fell is because of
attempted murder. A proper search engine would help a lot.

Sorry to ask here but I know no better place. Does anyone know of these two old flash videos?
One had a bipedal rabbit doing a sorta dance and making the universe. You could see his dance and
likeness throughout the universe. Such as a fatty exercising would perform the dance moves.
The other had some caped humanoid riding a vehicle in a barren land. Arriving at what I presume
is a temple. Took a portal to space to defeat a giant head. He punched it and coated it in plant
life. The things being spewed out from the giant head landed on the planet and terraformed the
world.
I cant find either for the life of me and I have zero clue on the names.
Oh there was also a strangely peaceful shooter where you used sunlight to shoot things. Doing
things like making flowers bloom and melting ice while seagull calls are heard in the background.
