How do I disable Ruffle?

you can't. you can get a browser like Pale Moon which plays Flashes in another window, or you can
view them all offline with the projector. right now /f/ only uses ruffle.

/f/ doesn't use anything, you do
it's just that mods decided to change the file embed to ruffle embed instead, which sucks
there is no reason to not have an option in the site extension to change back
>>3461358
so you can't, but fret not as you shouldn't use embed anyway
still the option would be nice
also: speaking of Pale Moon, anybody noticed that some updates ago it seems they introduced a
sort of always embed even with direct links to swf files
like, there's a white border around the swf, even if you open it directly (from your PC), kind of
a pseudo html site to embed to file to, for whatever reasons (enabling right click menu options?)
it's not a dealbreaker by far, but having a black skin and black background swf still has the
border always white which kinda distracts a little visually
would be cool if the border would adapt to the background colour of the swf, maybe some anons
want to pitch that on the Pale Moon forums
but for what I know it also might be the plugin directly or maybe /f/ fucking around with the
display, who knows

i've noticed the boarder, wonder what's the deal with it

that white frame doesn't show in older firefox version so it's definitely a pale moon's issue

I did a little digging around and it's not an issue, but something that must have been added in
the most recent version.
It doesn't just affect /f/ but all swf files and on top of that other plugins like pdf view too,
so it's not a flash thing, it's a plugins thing in general.
Don't know why people thought that plugins must be contained in some kind of html wrapper, maybe
we should try to ask the devs if this was done on purpose.
There's little documentation about it and that probably won't change considering the extremely
small userbase of people still using plugins, Pale Moon specifically and being autistic enough to
notice it appear on swfs.

There's a reason because flash is dead and promoting the use of outdated and vulnerable plugins
is bad.
Stop seething and accept the fact that flash now will only be available through emulation and not
just on 4chan.

Are you mentally retarded?
This is the flash board. Right here is where people use flash, only flash. Why are you on /f/ if
you don't want to use flash? Go see a videopage elsewhere, go to /gif/.
We've been using those very same "outdated and vulnerable" plugins until right now and will
continue to do so. We don't just let some higherups dictate what we are allowed to use or not.
This emulation you're talking about it like a poor attempt at trying to achieve what has already
been perfected.
Flash is here, still functions flawlessly, has no more higher security risks than javascript and
if you aren't a braindead monkey crawling out of google's ass you can use it without any
problems, either by using a better browser, having a standalone browser just for /f/ or using the
still officially promoted projector.
Really, idk which hole you people came crawling out, but methinks your time is better spent there
instead of trying to muse about how 90% of all flashes in existance won't work with ruffle for
about 100 more years and even if they might some day, it's still an inferior way of playing
flashes.
Sure, you don't need flashes anymore, so let this last haven of creativity and true chill chan
culture be unaffected by your conceited bullshit about how YOUHAVE2STAWPUSINGTEHFLASHUGUYZZ
(because my grandma told me they said on fauxnews it's dangerous).

idk if I'm stupid or what but while I can play swf files on /f/ or whatever just fine when go to
flash game sites nothing even loads anymore.
am I doing something wrong or is this on their end. and if it's the latter, has anyone been
archiving flash games for like, the last 20 years, by any chance?

/f/ should be using the ruffle plugin if it is working.
Look at BlueMaxima's Flashpoint. They have a lot of flash games and a client to play them.
