I've just been doing my first playthrough of the Gothic series and I've been having a blast. The
opening scene really set the tone for the series. In the beginning you're completely worthless
and the NPCs treat you as such, until you start proving your worth. It's certainly not without
flaws, like the low budget voice acting and the clunky controls. You basically have to read the
manual to figure them out. But after a few hours of playing it's not too bad.

Are you playing it with the original German dubbing or in English?

In English. I just listened to the German version of the intro video and it sounded like it could
be better.

so I checked gothic 2 and there seems to be an unofficial mod called new balance. should I get
that one or stick to the og?
