tl;dr issue seems to be that the plugin not only blocked ads but also sent clicks to the ad
server as if the ad was viewed and clicked.
i've no problem with classifying such a plugin as malicious. it doesn't only cause problems for
the ad provider but also for the webmaster of the site you are visiting, since the ad provider
might think he is cheating with the ads and terminate his account. so by using that plugin you
are effectively trying to kill the sites you like to use, since if the site lose its ad provider
it may need to shut down.
besides, you can even get around the soft block by changing a setting in about:config, then the
plugin can still be used. so if anything you are the moralfag here. the anti-moral fag...
