this is probably the only place I can vent about this
anons, I'm scared of the future driven by AI and algorithms where the AI would just give us
suggestions to improve ourselves, measure our health and behavior through phones and watches and
when it becomes autonomous and starts deciding for us, I might as well be trapped in a VR. I mean
there will be fully functional VR with my favorite waifus and shit in the future, right guise?
Maybe I've just seen too many movies or read too many bullshit stories and articles and I hope
I'm wrong but god damn if I can't see the future going down this route

You're still able to reject these incursions into your everyday life and privacy and I feel like
there's enough people out there that share this healthy skepticism of AI shit that it will never
completely take over like you fear.
That being said it will be important to maintain that mentality and not let people shout down
your concerns or tell you you're standing in the way of 'progress'. Don't worry anon you're not
alone.

That is the present. Though not wholly deciding for us, algorithms give suggestions, affect the
top result of search engines, product listing order and other currently minute stuff like that.
This has a cumulative influence but it's goal is more or less wholly capitalistic -- just
attempting to get the most money for the owners by getting you to buy something or stay longer.
Hell, remember that article from Safeway where some father found out his daughter was pregnant
just based on her shopping habits (that were recorded in a membership account).

like the poster above me said, I feel that we are already living in that age. the only way to
escape is to make a conscious decision to unplug.

sometimes it feels like the movies about dystopian futures is what gives the rulers their ideas

It's just a bot-like existence screaming buzzwords and reddit opinions into the void.
Don't answer him, fellow void dweller.

I guess it falls to me to complement the pretty slideshow the AI created. It looks very pretty
and the matching sound fx are a nice touch. If there's anything people should be worrying about,
it should be being able to use technology responsibly. AI is only as good as how it has been
developed and/or trained
