Note that the display works fine on modern Ruffle.

where do you get the newest ruffle?

On /f/, I don't think you can use newer Ruffle versions in embeds.
You can install the browser extension and run the player from its menu: https://ruffle.rs/
You can copy-paste the URL from 4chan in the player.
You can also download the desktop application for offline use, although for most flashes you may
be better off using the old standalone Flash Player, as long as the SWF you open isn't malicious.

To your knowledge, is there a way to play a flash by clicking the file name, having it auto play
like the good ol' days of /f/, instead of copy/pasting the URLs to Ruffle in a separate tab?
I always found it annoying that it auto downloaded the file when you click it in Chrome

Cool collection of stuff, isn't it remarkable how Adobe basically just threw all of this away?

Don't know about Chrome but in Firefox I've set content type "application/x-shockwave-flash" to
"Always ask", then I "open" it in the default program I've set for swf files on windows, which is
Adobe's flash player.
So 2 clicks on /f/ to play a flash.

(I'm >>3506674 ).
I think >>3506682 is your best bet. In Settings > "Applications" section, you can configure
Firefox to "ask for all files", then click on the filename and tell it to open it with Adobe
Flash Player or Ruffle's standalone app.
