[_] How to fix /f/? Anonymous 09/11/23(Mon)00:10:51 No.3499184
What would be the easiest to implement and least intrusive change that would benefit /f/?
I personally think a sticky with a download link for the offline flash projector from adobe would
give newfags as well as returning /f/ags at least a little bit of help playing the swf that are
posted on this board.
I'm happy that at least the mods updated the Ruffle version that is used on /f/, it was stuck on
an old build for a very long time and I was starting to lose hope.
A bigger file size limit would open up /f/ to new flashes that have so far not been posted and
might breathe some new life into this board. And there is at least one artist that is active on
/f/ that can't post his flashes here because they are too large.
Furthermore, a 4chan native archive for this board, like all the others already have, would be
nice. You could open expired threads after the fact and read any new posts you might have missed,
and you can link and see them in other threads without having to go to any external archive.
Linking to /f/ from other, slower boards might also be more viable. It's sad to see a link to a
flash die in one of your posts.
At least one anon was clamouring for a larger number of threads that could be up simultaneously
on /f/. At first I was not sure if there would be a notable benefit from implementing this
change, but because of the way threads are pruned on /f/ it would be akin to adding an archive,
since it just extends the life of all threads by a flat duration. Then again, /f/ used to be a
lot more active in the past and was just fine with the current amount of board space. Plus, I've
only seen boards get extended when their traffic increases to the point were threads are pruned
too quickly, not when their traffic decreases...
Also I don't think /f/ is broken, I just needed a subject to grab people's attention.
Marked for deletion (old).

Nice song, thanks anon. It goes to the queue list.
About the topic. I had the same problem, I make a thread, link it to other board and the link
dies too quickly. It's almost useless. I would choose to extend the termination date. If I have
to make just one change.

I think ruffle just needs to get to above 90% Action Script support, the "big news" that flash is
saved and a hint that 4chag has a flash board
Maybe the admins some sort of "flash is saved" /f/ banner visible on every board for a week to
get some visitors.
Anf fuck captcha

I just open the .swf in my browser, what are you fags doing wrong?
>> [_] Anonymous 09/11/23(Mon)17:27:05 No.3499218
I've spent over a decade with you faggots and I wouldn't change a thing.
Let newfags figure it out on their own it's not that hard.

we should make our own /f/ with blackjack and hookers
>> [_] Anonymous 09/11/23(Mon)19:50:41 No.3499227
Does it even really matter if you cant open the flash? The same shit gets posted on repeat every
day, since 2007

I don't think there is any new fags here posting.
It's just that, with the janny seeking announcement we see that maybe there could be a chance to
change something here. But I don't think it will happen.
My only concern is a new janny fucking shit up somehow. So I only hope the board remains
untouched.
But, I would like a bigger list of threads and more time or no time at all for deletion. It would
improve the board, and nothing would change visually.

Thumbnails like 4plebs archive so I can actually see if I already watched/saved the swf file w/o
wasting my time loading it.
>
Have a separate sub-category for loops/animations. Like 10 swf listed as 'loop', another 10 as
'animation', etc. Sometimes I just want to find cool music from the old internet era and nothing
else.
>
Have an actual meeting point for the community. It can be a discord server, icq, forum, i don't
really care. Sometimes someone is dumping his swf collection (which are treasures for me) and it
will be lost forever if i don't check the archive for hours.
>
I usually convert most of the swf I enjoyed to webm and share them in /ygyl/ threads. And some of
them are still being reposted after years so that does not mean /f/ has lost their influence in
other boards.

Personally I feel that flash can still be used to make cool amvs like 0x40 hues but i'm still too
lazy to learn.

You will learn eventually, because it's easy. And then you will want new features lol

I can admit that there's at least one here.
I also do agree that allowing for more threads up at once and a longer time before deletion would
certainly improve things.

Anyone could thing that that's a "must to have" feature. But it's that useful though? Just a
random screenshot... mmhh... it won't happen.
I would prefer other substantial changes much more than that.
1st, no deletion time.
2nd in importance, a hundred more threads.
Done.

Nothing. The ruffle seethers fear the flash.
You don't need no future compatibility hopes. Open a browser that supports flash today. You have
no excuse you lazy ass niggers.
