It is an habit passed down to the plebs by the high classes. Every wannabe feels the need to
"belong" and to pretend. And the high class laugh at the cattle imitating them. It's a control
behavior, money control, works like an electric cattle prod, and the cattle themselves shock
eachother with that.
Same like those mafia movies when the "boss" goes around putting money in pockets to assert his
ownership, dominance and authority.
America works like that from the top to the bottom, ("lobby", legalized corruption, Influence
peddling, etc) and that's why we are fucked. Rotten to the core.

The fuck is that conspiracy ass bullshit at the end? It isn't some stupid as high-class
psychology mimicry shit, it's about the minimum wage.
Now it depends where you are but in the United States, a shit ton of states have it so that if
you are tipped you don't actually keep that tip, you have to make more tips than your minimum
wage to get any tip above that.
The other bullshit one is where in some states (like Alabama) doesn't pay you the minimum wage
and they literally require tips to survive, practically all states following that regulation has
the minimum at $2.13 an hour.
Even if you live in one of the best states where they correctly give you a minimum wage where the
tip is a bonus companies often justify not giving these workers raises using tips as an excuse.
The whole thing is a fucked up scam and definitely rotten to the core but you don't need to write
fanfiction as to "why" is it a thing. The thing that's shitty is the state is supposed to force
companies to pay their workers and instead, the labor of properly paying employees is being put
on the customer for no fucking reason as we're all making no money.

They see it like an expression of bribery. A self-perceived "honest" society will feel insulted
by that. We are so used to it, that EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE must be "purchasable". Even a gesture
of good manners must have a measurement in money, if you think about it, that's kinda disgusting
and fucked up. Our moral values are gone. And when we see other societies with moral and "honor"
values we don't even understand or recognize it anymore.
