No big damage yet but the worst is yet to come.
Well, at least something is happening.

i don't understand why they tell young people to put all of their savings in stocks. one bad week
like this one could obliterate years' worth of wealth with no promise of recovery.
that said, between all the ups and downs this past week, i've only lost ~$2000 out of 70k
invested. so not too shabby.

What are you guys talking about? Did they bring YSE back out of season and I missed it?

because if you save money its value gets obliterated by inflation. even normal inflation (2% per
year) eats away a lot between you being 20 and you being in your 30s.
meanwhile if you spread your savings out across stocks you just need to gain 2.1% every year to
keep your money's value (beat inflation), unless you're very unlucky or have invested way too
risky you should get back more than 2.1% per year.
new money printed causes inflation but after it has landed on a rich person it typically ends up
in stocks. there's a limit on how much land/houses/gold/silver wealthy people are willing to own
before they just increase their stock portfolio. if you as a poor/regular person also own stocks
you'll benefit instead of losing out on inflation.

stocks have been going down and up and down and up the whole week on all markets in the world,
ever since trump announced the reciprocal tariffs last wednesday (april 2nd)
