Those were the days.

If only Moot would split /b/ in 2, it would help massively.
/b/ are capable of making decent-ish threads, but due to the speed of that board, most of them
give up because they end up dying after 30-60 seconds if nobody replies.
And sadly in this case, survival of the fittest is "raff u ruse lololol" and other stupid shit
like that.
There has been times where the boards were slower, back like 05 in fact, and those were great
days.
But Moot just keeps on turning it down in fear of "using more resources" which it won't do by
much. (unless his server is really awful)

more like split /b/ in four parts. Every new thread is randomly assigned to one of them.
this kind of imageboard software doesn't scale well past the level /a/ is at right now.

Hehe, I remember when I made this the background music for /dis/.
>> [_] Anonymous 05/12/10(Wed)03:45 No.1259672
Oh god have I really been here for 6 years?

Na, best not to load balance to be honest.
Let the denizens of /b/ decide which board to go to.
It should balance itself out within a month or so.
Reason being is a poster will be like "oh, hey, i want this thread to last a little longer, so i
will go to /b2/"
Others will think along these lines too.
After the initial crapflood of shit on all boards, it will eventually die down and all that will
be left is nice thread flow.
Stealth balancing just leads to annoyance since it removes control from the user.

would only work better than >>1259670 if flood detection worked across boards, which doesn't
right now. You can post on every board simultaneously. What's to stop people from making combo
threads in both /b/'s? (I don't know how difficult cross-board flood detection would be to
implement)
moot probably considers adding /r9k/ the equivalent of adding another /b/, but it clearly isn't.
