Agreed. It was pretty sinister up until then. I got the feeling of some mega corporation in some
dystopian future where the employees are treated like shit and forced to smile regardless like

In modern times we are all forced to do cookie-cutter actions that are often irrational and
illogical simply to fit in and thereby get even the most basic of needs like companionship or sex.
The moment you fail to execute these silly, irrational actions, your fellow species will--a lot
of the time--stab you in the back mercilessly because you are different. Notice the logos and
text strings on their outfits, all cookie-cutter slogans and brands.
The end scene, subsequent to killing the non-conformer, with the disco ball and orgy was not
comic relief: it was merely to point out that they had companionship because they conformed.
