Well, my unlucky anon, it originated off of Goldeneye 007 of all things. Someone posted a video
way back when of glitches that occured when one tilted the Goldeneye 007 cartridge (google
'cartridge tilting' for info on that). One of the glitches caused all humans to spaz out. The
video itself wasn't that popular, but somebody decided to do it too, and just added music. And
the Get Down meme was born.

Anyway, he's right, except the meme didn't get popular until a guy, probably from 2ch, drew up
one of those 2ch cat faces in humanoid form and made a dance out of the Goldeneye glitch just by
running spastic poses together and adding the hip shake and pelvic thrust. Only then did it catch
on.
