  It's the fanon.
  And the large, quirky, nearly all-female cast. Lots of variety to exploit.
  The games are hit or miss. I'm not big on vertical shootan, but I enjoy it every now and the
  games are just a way of introducing new characters anyway.
  The fighting games are nice though.
