I thought, at first, this was that horribly stupid thing that shouts 'niggers' as soon as you
load it with the shoop da whoop face so I almost didn't load it and then I remembered that was
named something else. Garfield without Garfield. Is this suggesting that Garfield died or
disappeared somehow? That, alone, is depressing. Almost as depressing as the last episode of
Calvin and Hobbs where Calvin realizes that Hobbs really was just a stuffed, toy tiger all along.

Garfield was never there
Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips
in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey
deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness
and depression in a quiet American suburb.

Calvin never realizes that. It's always left ambiguous considering some of the stuff Hobbes did
to Calvin anyway, like tying him in a chair perfectly. There is almost no way Calvin could do
that himself...so the existential nature of Hobbes isn't clear cut.
