[_] [G] FUCK OFF: THE GAME XENON !TK/UA49EzE 06/25/11(Sat)01:00 No.1528152
It's a game, don't be discouraged by the title. Or be.
it's not done yet, I thought i might give it a test run with you guys and see if I should
continue up to 100 "puzzles"
this is an experiment to see if it's possible to make a game with very minimal/none scriptwork
give me your feedback, I want to see how I can make this concept 'fun'
>> [_] Anonymous 06/25/11(Sat)01:11 No.1528156
first off what is the goal of the game, as in what are we supposed to do? this is very helpful in
making a game fun

right-click > "forward" > You Win (absolutely nothing)

they should be puzzles though
if its just a lot of mouse wagglan to find the sweet spot its just boring there should be some
logic, however cryptic, to each one

or just hit forward and play a bunch of times.

Whack.

That was the best flash I have seen on here in a long time. Thank you.

This distinctly reminds me of the hoshi saga games, minus the central theme, and obviously not
anywhere near as developed yet.
Links to the hoshi saga games (they're flash, I'm just too lazy to post them here):

I'm sure you can get some inspiration from these.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of "find the pixel" which is what your game boils down to at the
moment.
I prefer minimalist puzzle games to be:
1. Figure out the mechanic
2. Solve the puzzle
With the difficulty weighted towards 2. Take this game as an example:

Made it to the Black screen with single White line.
I don't understand all of the puzzles but honestly like the idea.

Finished. Yawn.

Stuck at "You amuse me"

>Right-Click, Forward
>Arrive at next screen
>Rinse & Repeat
You've killed Tab functions so they can't cheat with the Tab key, but the menu functions still
exist.
Do this on Frame 1:
var aMenu_cm:ContextMenu = new ContextMenu ();
aMenu_cm.builtInItems.play = false;
aMenu_cm.builtInItems.rewind = false;
aMenu_cm.builtInItems.forward_back = false;
_root.menu = aMenu_cm;

Also, give a button an instance name and add this script on the same frame as the button:
whateverinstancenameyouused.useHandCursor=0
If you do this, the cursor wont even change when it's over a button so it's hard, if not
impossible to find the button. /trollface
Anyhoo, good luck with it xenon.
