Nevermind copyright law routinely destroys old movies.
See, copyright law I think is the lifetime of the artist plus something like 80 years... Nobody
can legally make any copies of their work, even with the intent to preserve it, until copyright
law runs out.
80 years is much longer than the expected lifespan of the film media onto which most of those
movies are recorded.
In the national film library there are tons of movies selected for preservation for whatever
value they had to the people of their era simply turning to dust because nobody's allowed to copy
them. Some companies will renew their copyright as a protective measure, just because that's what
companies do, then promptly take no steps to preserve what they've taken ownership of for another
80 years.
So don't use the classics to convince me that unauthorized copying is wrong.

Stealing from giant corporations is wrong. They're just trying to make an honest dollar, and
these disgusting pirates copy their movies and share them with 1000s. Disgusting. These people
should be put in prison and ass raped.

If the artists or the corporations they work for decide they want to hide their films away until
they turn to dust, that's their right as the creators and owners. Don't like it? Make your own
crap then.
