Welcome to the 21st century... unless you're looking at kiddie porn or hacking somebody's email
account... nobody really gives a shit anymore.

What about a free shareware alternative?

I caught some trouble when my University kicked me off the 'net for a week after I downloaded an
old THQ game. Any word on that? I'm fucking paranoid now.

They probably care more about the bandwidth you were hogging to download it than the fact that
you were downloading it.
Nobody cares.
Unless it's child porn or you're hacking into someone's shit, nobody cares.
Well, downloading movies/TV is a possible exception, that will probably get you a few stern
letters, but even then you'll always get a warning before you get any actual action against you.
Your ISP wants you to stay as a customer, so they're not going to axe you after one infraction.
