I'm going to. Combining both metroid and castlevania into one. This is still in baby stages.
Gonna add different subweapons. I'm going to nerf the old subweapons to encourage players to try
new ones.
Fire flower, beam weapons, summoning metroid monsters. Like that.

I've been using the control scheme of:
D: attack
S: jump
A: backdash
W: cycle subweapon
It seems more sensible than the defaults; less hand-cramping at the very least. If there's no way
to save control changes, might there be a way to have multiple quick-defaults?

I replace shift for jump so that I don't have to move my hand when pressing the buttons (s to w).
Don't know if its a common bug but I can't assign the space bar to any of the actions.

I see a lot of people neglecting a conveniently placed nine keys on the keyboard, i use
Numpad 4: Attack
Numpad 6: Jump
Numpad 5: Backdash (not that I use it at all.
Numpad 8: switch subweapon
then have movement on wasd, maybe it's not for everyone but I always find it easier to manage
movement with my left hand and actions with my right, like a real controller or an arcade type
setup.
