4chan has been up for 8 years now. I've been going for 6 of those 8.
For a website to not die out, it has to continually attract new people to replace those that get
too old for the demographic, or just simply lose interest.
Newfags are not a bad thing. They're part of the cycle of 4chan staying alive. Personally, I want
to be able to come back to 4chan in 30 years and smile, knowing I may not know the memes, but the
people are the same, fundamentally, as when I was 21.
That said, I do fucking hate when the newer posters act like they know what they're talking
about. And I feel old as shit when they request sauce on something I look at and go "Fucking
older than the internet"

Years down the line people will look at stuff like jimmies and think it's from the golden age of
4chan. It is a vicious cycle of butthurt and faggotry.
I think the most important thing is not to forget your history which I believe this generation
doesn't understand. There is pretty much no LURK MOAR culture anymore and only select boards have
an understanding of the 2chan style humor that 4chan originally based its humor around.

This assumes new bloods bring something to the table - they don't. Instead they regurgitate the
same shit they see, coming here with the propagated expectation that 4chan is nothing but GETs,
forced memes, and amateur trolling. The majority of "OC" consists of bringing flashes from an
already known source or low-quality youtube rips.

You can't rescue the 4channel
Its gonna die eventually. Conserving the site will lead to an thorough change, altering it's core
and making it something else, than everyone who died or lost interest had any interest in the
first place
4chan will die with the last oldfag out, not counting moot who will envolve into an immortal

Yeah, I'm not too worried about the "survival of the species", for every hundred meme-spouting
newfags, there's one or two people who actually get it. Every Friday someone posts
friday_at_last.swf and without fail, someone /r/'s sauce. Every. Single. Friday. And someone
always answers. This tells me that there is both a steady influx of newfags, but also a steady
core of oldfags who are keeping traditions alive and helping out newfags.
Giving newfags shit is necessary. If they can't actually contribute, they should probably fuck
off back to wherever they came from. It's not about "fitting in", it's about not being a nuisance
to the community.

newfags arent really a bad thing, but it is usually their idiotic though process of mirroring
what they see on this site. They see faggot use chan speak, and then proceed to use it too. They
see people using reaction images and then try to use the same ones in almost every instance they
can. They have a horrible desire to fit into a crowd which is the total opposite of 4chan and
other anonymous boards seek to accomplish.
I will admit and accept hate for being a newfag. However, I dont pepper this site with unoriginal
posts and try to derail discussion. I never ask for sources or repost old content. I spend a lot
of my time on creative boards like /diy/ and try to make my own creations to share with the
community. If you oldfags want newfags to stop acting like fucking meme spouting idiots, then

It's really very hard to do that on the fast-moving popular boards (which the newfags visit). If
it doesn't appeal to them within minutes, then it is buried under a slew of shitposts. With this
in mind, it takes more than just a few minutes to adjust to 4chan. In the meantime, they
gravitate towards all the forced, tired memes that they can identify with, and any hope of
