you'd think with all those sword and knife skills he would cut off some of the extra fat on his

Okay, some of that was legitimately cool. Most of it looked like he was just knocking over
bottles with lame toy swords.

What he needs to do is lose some of that fat because I can see its slowing down his swings. Now
only for his case swordplay impressed women instead of making them think your some kind of freak

ugh he's terrible. Most of the times he cuts the bottle is only due to the sharpness of the
sword. The bottle keep falling because he's pushing down as he swings. He should just let the
blade lead. When you try and exert more force. unless you know what you're doing you're only
putting tension on the blade. Which is fine if its going edgewise. But the bottles tip over
because he's pushing down with the wide part of the blade as he swings.

What is the point of this exercise? That he can weakly hit a static target? 81 times? I wonder
how many takes he did.
Even with those tiny axes he can't manage a graceful flourish. Try throwing around a splitting
maul one-handed, then come see me.

Not always. With a strong enough sword, a skilled swordsman can actually deflect projectiles away
from vital organs. at ranges of up to 50 yds, the sword stands a chance.

They already did this. The speed of human reaction time isn't fast enough to even realize the
weapon has been fired by the time you're hit. Its impossible. Arrows can be but not fucking
bullets.

Crap technique, but he's 350 pounds at least. Even pushing down on his follow through that's a
shitton of UNMOVABLE BLOB behind that swing. Sure you could casually walk out of his kill radius
and watch him die of a heart attack trying to follow you, but get inside and you're going to have
to cut through a lot of jelly to hit anything, and by that time, this spastic manchild will have
given you some ugly, hard to stitch, ragged as fuck wounds.

Triangulating possible trajectories and making sure the blade is in position before the gun is
even fired, knowing where the bugger is aiming and hoping he's a deadeye with a steady hand and
an accurate weapon is the only possible way you could do it. You could never swing a sword to
deflect a bullet, that's just ridiculous.

So what you're showing here is a katana in a vise, held in a static position is cutting a bullet.
That's not a person holding a sword ready and moving the blade to intercept.
Myth Busted.
Also the 50 feet (not yards) thing comes from a police doctrine to treat a perp with an edged
weapon as a highly dangerous situation. It's because you don't know if the person is gonna dash,
where, or if you can get a proper bead on him before he attacks you or someone in the vicinity
(including themselves).

Come on man, you do realize that there's no possible way in hell a swordsman can win against
someone with a gun if there is some distance between them?
Any bullets that are deflected would be complete and pure utter luck. The next bullet would
either be a direct hit or just go through the sword completely.
>> [_] Anonymous 10/11/12(Thu)21:55 No.1782884
>>1782799
And in turn, the reason for that is the 21 Foot Rule. Through time trials, they have determined
that an attacker could close that distance in a couple seconds. Well enough to strike someone
with a firearm regardless of whether they fired or not. On top of that, in additional tests, the
defender either did not acknowledge that he was stabbed, or underestimated how many times and how
critical the wounds.
>>1782846
Not at close range, it doesn't. But, otherwise, firearms win. There's no contest there. But in a
real life scenario, no one is mugging you from 30 feet away.
>> [_] Anonymous 10/11/12(Thu)22:04 No.1782887
>>1782884
Firearms win at every single range.
Sidearms beat melee weapons. Long rifles are bad for melee range, of course, but that's not all
guns.
